Rosedale ABS Tutorial – 1 [Getting Started]

Getting Start:

The first step of using the ABS tool, is to install the plugin into your projects “js/plugins” folder. From there, add thee plugin via the plugin manager, and configure the ABS settings as needed( they should all be self explanatory.

After the plugin is installed, and configured, you MUST configure your project via the ABS TOOL AS WELL!!! If the abs plugin is install, but the ABS data from the tool is not configured, you will not be able to properly use the ABS!

Upon launching the abs you will be prompted with a project select screen, from here, you can add your project via the “Import MV” for an RPG Maker MV project, or “Import MZ” for an RPG Maker MZ project, found on the right panel.

After importing a project from the ABS, you can find your project on the left panel.

After your project is imported, you will need to configure the ABS data required for the plugin to work. The first thing we need, is at least ONE Actor and ONE Enemy, configured with proper abs related data, and to initialize the extra item, and skill data. Start by clicking on your project, from the list on the left, then choose “Edit Actor Extras”, or “Edit Enemy Extras”.

Please make sure to setup both ONE actor, and ONE enemy at least, AND have skills and items initialized! or the ABS will NOT function properly! If the data is NOT initialized, you will not be able to execute any attacks or skills.

Please follow along with this tutorial in it’s entirety to properly setting up your project!
